Just what can a membership in the Cedar Lake Chamber of Commerce do for
you?
We are very glad you asked.
As an organization, the chamber is committed to improving the business
community here in the Town of Cedar Lake. We also support those businesses
outside our town who provide us with services. In addition to business
members, the Chamber has a select group of associate members who are also
interested in improving the town and its business community. Both groups
have worked together through the 35 years of the Chambers existence to
make Cedar Lake an ideal example of Hometown, USA.
By operating the Welcome Center, we are often the first stop people make
when coming to our community. The Center allows us to offer our members
a chance to put their business brochures and cards on display for the
thousands of people who visit us annually. Our staff is knowledgeable
about local business and can provide current information and the locations
of all of our members immediately upon request. This is often necessary
because the geographic location of our businesses is not centrally located,
it is situated around our 794 acre lake. We offer newcomers to the community
an information packet which includes a member business directory published
annually.
The Chamber encourages networking among its members and regularly hosts
luncheons and dinners to keep everyone working in a close relationship.
We also support events that include, "Business After Hours",
"Ribbon Cuttings" (for new buinesses), Tourism Day, Membership
Picnics, a Garden Walk, Car Show and Realtor Tours of the Lake (by boat).
